Hadi Abassi is the President and CEO of the Atlas Group. Mr. Abassi established Atlas Engineered Products Ltd. in 1999 to manufacture roof trusses at its Nanaimo manufacturing facility. He established Coastal Windows in 2003 as a dealer and then subsequently a manufacture of custom doors and windows. Hadi holds a mechanical engineering degree from Swindon Technical College. As a community leader, Mr. Abassi has been nominated citizen of the year on three occasions, was nominated by the Government of Canada to carry the Olympic torch and established the Vancouver Island Raiders football club in 2005.
Guy Champagne is an accomplished businessman and entrepreneur. Mr. Champagne has been a director of ImmunoPrecise Antibodies Ltd. (TSXV: IPA) since December 2016, and a director of Seahawk Ventures (CNSX:SHX) since August 2015.
He has been involved privately owned companies in such roles as: President of Aequitor Inc., former Vice-President of Real Estate Webmasters Inc. and Advisor for Hardy Buoys Smoked Fish Inc. Served as Managing Partner and Senior Partner of BDC Consulting between 2006 and 2013, retiring in December 2013. His education includes Canadian Securities Course, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators training program for the Chartered Business Valuator designation, the Institute of Corporate Directors program and Honours Mathematics at McGill University.
Roy Dondale is a veteran of the transportation and trucking industry. Mr. Dondale was the General Manager for Western Seaboard Transport from 1992 to 1998, Vice President of Operation at Excel Transportation Inc. from 1999 to 2016. He has worked as a truck driver, a dispatcher and service manager, this has given him a personal understanding of the business. His sound understanding of operational and business logistics allows him to effectively build, support and lead confident, accountable and decisive teams. Mr. Dondale is a driven, results based leader that achieves success by evaluating and improving effectiveness of operations.
Carmen Amezquita Hernandez is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has ten years of experience working with public companies. Ms. Amezquita currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Silver One Resources Inc. Previously, Ms. Amezquita has acted as the controller for a number of public companies.
Brittany Ray-Wilks holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration – Human Resources Management and Leadership from Camosun College in Victoria, BC.
Before coming to work at Atlas Engineered Products, Mrs. Ray-Wilks worked for the Corporation of the District of Saanich.
Greg Smith is a seasoned capital markets veteran who held senior positions in investment banking before recently transitioning to private equity. He was the Portfolio Manager for Phillips, Hagar & North and the Executive Director of Canadian Securitization Group, CIBC World Markets for close to ten years. Mr. Smith currently serves as President and Director of Broadway Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Co. Ltd. and Omega Mechanical Ltd. He earned an MBA from Dalhousie University and is a Chartered Financial
Analyst. He is currently serving as Chairman and director of Lite Access Technologies (IPA: LTE) and a director of ImmunoPrecise Antibodies Ltd. (TSXV: IPA).
Don Hubbard recently completed serving as Chair for the Island Health’s Board of Directors and was appointed in November 2010 and served for 7 years. He is currently the president of Hubbard Consulting Ltd., a resource and construction industry consulting company. Prior to this he worked with Lafarge Canada Inc and Warren Materials Group of Canada for 44 years, retiring as General Manager of the Lafarge Canada, Vancouver Island North West Division in 2009.
Don is presently a director of the Vancouver Island University international high school, past director and board chair for the Vancouver Island University (2001-2007), director for Vancouver Island University Foundation, a member of the Nanaimo Haven Society. Nation Director and British Columbia Board Chair of Ducks Unlimited Canada 2006-2015.
Starting school in Lakeside Oregon and after moving multiple times Graduated in Nanaimo. An alumnus of Malaspina College and BCIT, Don returned to university in 2009 to study Anthropology and Archeology. In 2011 Don enrolled at SFU to obtain an ICD designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and graduated on May 6, 2012. In 2006 Don became a Paul Harris Fellow through the Nanaimo Day Break Club and 2007 he received the Nanaimo Citizen of the Year award for community service.
Don is married to his wife Lynne (51 years) and lives in Nanaimo.
Kevin Smith is the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Intracorp Projects Ltd. Prior to joining Intracorp, Mr. Smith served as the EVP & CFO at Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc. Before Whistler Blackcomb, Mr. Smith spent twelve years at Intrawest where he held several senior finance roles. Kevin is a Chartered Accountant, and currently sits on various boards including the University of British Columbia (Board of Governors).
